Faded Blue Dreams

Singer/songwriter Tim Ponzek delves into his passion for classic country styles with his newest recording Faded Blue Dreams. Tim’s songs take you back to a time when Cadillacs had fins and music came on vinyl!

From the opening Johnny Cash inspired country 2 beat “Dam The Water” to the fiddle on the western swing “The Whole Enchilada” to the Willie Nelson styled ballad “One Tear Down (One Million To Go)” Tim Ponzek maintains an old country vibe that would go well with a bottle of aged whiskey. The country shuffle “(There’s) Enough To Go Around” features a Jordanaires style vocal arrangement while the old-timey “Daddy’s Dream”, features a “vocal choir” performed by Lisa Pressman. Tim kicks it up a notch with the country rocker “If The Shoe Fits” and the roots rocker “Out Of The Frying Pan (Right Into The Fire)”. And with the roadhouse shuffle “I Woke Up”, you wonder if Tim is lost in his dreams. Speaking of dreams, the sophisticated title cut “Faded Blue Dreams” will have you crying in your Chardonnay. Tim’s plaintive baritone guitar adorns the Roy Orbison-like “Half A Mind” and the country swing “Each And Every Time”. Tim breaks out the classical guitar for another Willie Nelson inspired ballad “I Can’t Do What She Does”. “Who Would’ve Thought (We Would Come To This)” is an old-fashioned waltz and everyone has “A Friend Of A Friend” they would’ve liked to have known better. “No Message In The Bottle” reminds you not to drink too much while listening to this CD. Tim completes Faded Blue Dreams with a seasonal bonus track, the sentimental “In Love With The Spirit Of Christmas”. Backed by a great band featuring Jim Lum on guitar, Bob Lashier on bass and Todd Chuba on drums, Tim Ponzek, with co-producer Lisa Pressman, has created a stellar record.

Dam the Water Old-fashioned country two-beat with a 60's style female chorus by Lisa Pressman and a nod to Johnny Cash."Dam The Water falling from my eyes. Like a river when it rains all day and night…" The Whole Enchilada Humorous country swing about the woman who wants it all, featuring Zen Crook on fiddle, Jim Lum on guitar and Tim Ponzek on piano. "…‘Cause she wants The Whole Enchilada, so don't you take a bite. She wants life with all the toppings, she just pretends to be polite…" Half a Mind Tim’s plaintive baritone guitar adorns the Roy Orbison-like ballad of a broken heart."With all my heart I’ve always loved you, until it tore itself in two. Still half my heart wants to keep trying; the other half believes that we're through…" If the Shoe Fits Country rocker with layers of guitars about shoes, boots and life."No need to explain, I see how much you’ve changed. You’d rather walk uptown than down a country lane…" One Tear Down (One Million to Go) A haunting Willie Nelson styled ballad adorned with weepy guitars, mandolin, violin and female voices."All the times you cried all night, I turned into stone. Instead of trying to make it all right, I left you alone…" Out of the Frying Pan (Right Into the Fire) Americana Roots rocker with Wurlitzer electric piano and acoustic guitars setting the stage for impressive slide guitar by Jim Lum."She leaves her last mistake for her latest desire. Out Of The Frying Pan, Right Into The Fire…" Faded Blue Dreams Tim sings a song of longing and remorse that will have you crying in your Chardonnay."She stepped out of her robe, as easy as I stepped out of my mind…" (There's) Enough to Go Around A 50's country shuffle featuring a Jordanaires style vocal arrangement."The good ones are not all taken and there’s even more that are on the rebound. So if you’re looking for love, There’s Enough To Go Around…" I Can't Do What She Does Tim features his classical guitar together with Lisa Pressman on piano for another Willie Nelson inspired ballad."I can’t fly like she does. She flies up to the clouds and back again. She learns the whispered secrets of the wind, and I Can’t Do What She Does…" Each and Every Time An easy country swing in the classic style of Ray Price."Say you’ll stay, say you’ll stay ‘cause you’ll never know if you walk away. If you stay, I could chase your doubts away…" Who Would've Thought (We Would Come to This) A traditional country waltz about how love grows and matures through the years."We made our mistakes and we learned to forgive. Maybe there’s some healing power in our kiss ‘cause Who Would Have Thought We Would Come To This…" Daddy's Dream Written for Tim's Dad, an old-fashioned country song portraying the love of music being passed from father to son. Daddy’s dream is simple and he keeps it in his heart. And he brings out out on Sunday or whenever music starts…" A Friend of a Friend Everyone has had someone in their past they would have liked to have known better"Now I could spend my whole life missing then lie in my grave still wishing I was more than A Friend Of A Friend to you…" I Woke Up A roadhouse shuffle that takes you on a peculiar tour of Dreamland."I Woke Up in a cheap motel, didn’t know how I got there. The smell of day old beer and dried up tears left me gasping for air…" No Message in the Bottle A poignant ballad about searching for answers in times of loneliness and despair."How do we go from the children we start out to be to become the lost souls on our own island staring out to sea…" In Love With the Spirit of Christmas (bonus track) The original recording of this sentimental Seasonal ballad."It’s Christmas Time and we’re in love, in love with the spirit of Christmas. All the joy and hope that it gives us each time the season begins…"
